As Director of the Immunology and Animal Modeling Group, the incumbent will report directly to the Vice President of Research and Development and will be responsible for leading a diverse group of Ph.D. and M.S.-level scientists in the pre-clinical testing of various vaccines candidates. The job involves working with murine, guinea pig, and monkey models for evaluating vaccine candidates.
Responsible for supervising laboratory personnel and project team members in the conduct of immunological assays that include ELIspot, Flow cytometric assays, ELISA testing of samples obtained from pre-clinical studies.
The incumbent will oversee the design, planning, and coordination of animal protocols for the evaluation of vaccine candidates.
Review study reports, clinical investigator's brochure, publish manuscripts, sponsor GLP toxicology studies, present study data, and results at internal and external scientific meetings.
A strong background in immunology, microbiology, and virology, and an ability to manage/lead others are essential.
Experience conducting standard immunological assays (i.e. ELISpot, ELISA, ICS, and flow cytometry) is required.
Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and relevant scientific software is desirable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
